Review in SureShot Magazine
Here is my new review in SureShot Magazine:
Has your eye ever been guiltily caught by a barely-legal body passing by? There is something about the combination of innocence and beguiling energy which draws in that sort of attention. Stacie Rose may not be a teenager , but her voice has that same captivating combination of innocence and edgy maturity which draws your awareness. She has pop flavor with rock roots and she exhibits both the best of the indie singer-songwriter style and the ability to reach more mainstream audiences. Her lyrics offer both a youthful freshness and a wisdom which speaks straight to the heart. From the sentimental tune of friendship lost in “High as the Moon” to the petulant self-explanation of feeling like a “Disaster”, Stacie Rose uses creative language to relay common experiences. In “Okay”, she sings, “I feel your wonder running through my veins”, a feeling her fans may identify with as her infectious exuberance winds its way comfortably beneath their skin. You may turn your gaze away from the barely-legal babes on the street, but you can indulge in the pleasure of that same sensation guilt-free by listening to Shadow & Splendor, Stacie Rose’s second full-length CD which highlights the range of her evolving voice and introduces new fans to the strength of her musical ability. -Kathryn Vercillo
